Job Description

 

SUMMARY:

 

Responsible for testing communications for Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) microprocessors based Controllers, Power Meters Communications and Communications accessories in accordance with product specification requirements. Define test plans and test products in accordance with requirements.

 

Review and actively participate in the functional specification requirements put forward, to ensure that the requirement meets the market and product line potential.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1. Develops, implements, and maintains manual and automated quality assurance testing methodologies and systems to ensure the accuracy and stability of software applications.

2. Prepares test designs based on documented requirements and discuss with Design and Development teams

3. Recommends methodologies and software for automated testing and defect tracking.

4. Develops regression, quality assurance, validation tests, qualifications tests and scheduling plans for conducting the tests.

5. Communicates application errors in a clear and concise manner. Analyzes results, draws conclusions from test results, and make recommendations.

6. Helps design and develops test fixtures for Software testing

7. Reviews software developed for various switch products including communications equipment, controllers and test fixtures.

8. Participates in Software Process Improvement activities.

9. Provide necessary installation software and instructions. Assist factory and lab in setting up test fixtures for automated testing of products

10. Develop required documentation in the form of hardware diagrams, interconnections, flow charts and state diagrams.

11. Performs unit testing, integration testing, functional testing, system testing, acceptance testing and regression testing.

12. Develops Test Plans with requirements traceability, Test Schedules, and reporting.

13. Provides phone support to ASI for any related ASCO communication hardware and software products.

14. Up to 20% domestic travel to support products at customer sites.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

·          BSEE or BSET in Electrical Engineering or Electronics & Communications

·          3 Year’s experience in software testing. Installation and Configuring of Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows 2003, 2007

·          Server operating Systems is a must.

·          Experience in Software Quality Assurance Program is preferred. Testing and troubleshooting experience with RS-485

·          communications and Ethernet TCP/IP protocol is required.

·          Experience in testing CAN, Device Net is a plus.

·          Good communication and social skills are mandatory

·          Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access
