Job Description:
This consulting position will provide day to day support of electronic trading applications in a support role Linux/UNIX skillset.
The requirements are as follows:
- The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in direct support or development of UNIX/Windows applications, administration, or infrastructure. Ideally the candidate would have hands-on experience with 3rd party agent based software (i.e. tomcat, apache, IBM MQ).
- Candidate must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
- The ability to communicate well across multiple departments is required to facilitate problem resolution and escalation of environment issues.
- Flexibility in working hours may be required to meet project deadlines.
- This may include later or earlier starting/ending times.
- On occasion and as requested for special projects, weekend work may be needed.
- Qualified candidates must be a quick learner and self-sufficient.
- GIT, SQL, Shell scripting, ClearQuest, Bladelogic, Jira, HP Quality Center, and UC4 is highly desirable
The duties for this candidate are as follows:
- Support designers and programmers for electronic trading systems match engine and supporting infrastructure.
- Support existing development/QA platforms and interfaces with users to determine where improvements or enhancements are needed to better serve their needs.
- Interface with CME departments and assist with modifications required to support enterprise-wide system changes.
- Facilitate QA life-cycle testing of match engines, or support systems releases and work with development teams to assess the scope of potential environment problems.
- Monitor system utilization and recommend environmental enhancements or modifications as needed, weighing current and future needs as demand dictates.
- Define and document infrastructure support processes.
- Lead problem resolution or opportunity identification efforts in support of exchange initiatives.
- Provide technical advice to management as new technologies emerge and evolve.
- Troubleshoot and resolve break fix related issues assigned from Ticket tracking system
