Title : Sr Performance Engineer

Location: Tampa FL

We have an opportunities for Sr Performance Engineer for our client in Tampa FL,

 

·         Develop and drive performance test strategies to replicate production client patterns/usages and to validate software changes

·         Tune software and underlying components (hardware, middleware, databases etc.) for optimal performance (response times and throughput)

·         Evaluate overall system capacity during end-to-end load tests

·         Instrument applications for performance, Assess application performance / Compare to production baseline

·         Work tightly with application development, architecture, infrastructure and engineering groups for performance testing and application analysis initiatives to define success criteria and evaluation methodologies.

·         Identify , Analyze and Resolve performance bottlenecks

 

Skills Required:

 

·         A bachelor's degree in Computer Science is preferred

·         7+ years of experience in the performance engineering field.

·         Must possess a strong knowledge of enterprise application architecture and technologies including web, web services, distributed and mainframe messaging and databases layers.

·         Must also have a strong understanding of the monitoring solutions and KPIs used to determine availability and performance of these technology stack's.

·         Must be well versed in WebSphere, MQ and Oracle DB performance test & analysis using tools like Dynatrace, Wily, etc.

·         Develop and drive performance test strategies to replicate production client patterns/usages and to validate software changes.

·         Works with cross functional project teams to define performance metrics and acceptance criteria

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·         Should possess an understanding of software development and implementation methodologies.

·         Must possess strong experience using and implementing best practice programs with respect to performance test &engineering, bottleneck analysis, usage of modeling tools and statistical analysis.

·         Strong experience in mainframe and distributed application performance testing

·         Strong understanding and/or hands-on experience is required in the following categories:

 

Operating System: Red Hat Linux,IBM AIX, Solaris and VMWare

J2EE Application Server: IBM WebSphere and MQ Series

Database:   Oracle, UDB  & SQL Server

Application Development Platforms: J2EE, Java/SQL/Shell scripting

Tools: Dynatrace / ITCAM/ Wily /Tivoli Perofrmance viewer

Financial industry experience is a plus
