Position: Data Warehousing Consultant With Unix Scripting

Location: San Francisco, CA

Rate: Market

Job Description:


Mandatory Skill: 


Unix scripting in Data Warehousing environment


Essential Duties

 
  • BS in Computer Science or related field.
  • 8+ years design and development of DB2 database experience in AIX.
  • 5+ years of SQL-PL development experience.
  • 5+ years of shell scripting experience.
  • Expert teamwork, interpersonal, and communication (oral and written) skills are Required
  • Strong understanding of underlying DB2 UDB database architecture and its internals
  • Experience with IBM DB2  tools, troubleshooting, monitoring, recovery, and SQL performance tuning
  • Experience working with very large data warehouses.
  • Working knowledge of operating system internals (Shell scripting, monitoring, debugging) in AIX

Preferred skills:
 
  • Administration of databases, data migration, data analysis, and research. QA and audit of database applications and processes
  • Data quality analysis and documentation of processes
  • Experience with Autosys scheduler and NDM
  • Informatica ETL
  • Ability to multi-task along with excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong inter-personal, consulting, and business partner management skills
  • Experience with version control Subversion
  • Experience in finance industry is a big plus
  •  
  • Informatica not particularly needed for this one…a nice to have though!
