Senior System Admin Location : Atlanta , Georgia 30318 Duration : 12 Months Contract In Person Interview is MUST. JOB PURPOSE: Services provided involve conceptualizing, planning, designing and implementing complete and integrated information technology solutions that meet business needs and support long term goals. Use advanced IT architecture concepts to resolve highly complex issues. IMPACT & INFLUENCE: This position will interact on a consistent basis with: user department managers and staff, IT management and professional staff, vendors and contractors. This position typically will advise and counsel: user department managers and staff, IT professional staff, vendors and contractors KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties may include but are not limited to: - Deployment of java and third party applications
- Admin support for java applications and third party applications.
- Assisting application team with deployments.
- Implementing monitoring tools.
- Patching of applications and coordinating of o/s patching.
- Productions support as needed.
- Deploying new tomcat vms for dev, test and prod.
- May formulate strategies and administer policies, process and resources.
- Writing scripts to assist in system maintenance and for troubleshooting issues.
- Installation of third party software.
- Maintain ongoing awareness of department or campus wide business needs and long term goals.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills: - Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux 6 or Solaris 10
- Unix command-line
- Proficient in vi/vim/etc.
- Shell scripting (e.g., bash, ksh)
- Must be a solid problem-solver
- Ability to debug issues on a Unix environment
- Can explain simple procedures in writing or verbally
- Can create documentation
- Worked with version control such as SVN.
Preferred Skills: - Experience managing web servers (Apache or IIS)
- Experience managing Java application servers (JBoss or tomcat)
- Experience with PHP scripting
- Experience managing Oracle WebLogic
- Knowledge of basic Windows System Admin
- Knowledge of SQL
- Implementation of web monitoring, application monitoring tools such as Nagios
Additional technologies: - Liferay, Splunk, JIRA, Confluence, Cognos, Oracle, MySQL, HAProxy
