Position Title : Informatica Developer
Location : San Rafael, CA
Duration : 6+ Months
ETL Developer within the Record to Report Team, Understand dimensional modeling, analysis and Design. Strong Informatica Design skills, involved in ETL s Design and development. Expert in ETL Mapping, transformation, extract and load data from SAP, SAP BW to Oracle/SQL Server in complex and high volume environment.
Conduct code reviews and quality control of all ETL deliverables. Interface with business and functional teams, strong analytical and problem solving skills and excellent communication skills.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible for gathering requirements, design, development, testing, maintenance and support of complex data extracts, transforming as per the business rules and load (ETL) programs for a Global Data Warehouse using Informatica Power Center.
The successful candidate will have the ability to take the logical dimensional data model and use ETL skills to load the dimensions and Facts physical layer from various sources including SAP,SAP BW, SQL Server, Oracle, MS Access, etc.
An understanding of how complex data should be transformed from the source and loaded into the data warehouse is a critical part of this job.
Collaborate with business users to capture & define business requirements
Analyzing source data for potential data quality issues and addressing these issues in ETL procedures
Develop technical design documents and mappings specifications to build Informatica Mappings to load data into target tables adhering to the business rules
Design, develop and organize complex Informatica mappings, sessions and workflows.
Design and develop Extract Transform and Load (ETL) solutions for complex functional and technical requirements using Informatica PowerCenter Version 8.6.1 and 9.0.
Actively participate in design and analysis sessions with Architects to ensure flaw less design
Support system and user acceptance testing activities, including issue resolution.
Complete technical documentation to ensure system is fully documented
Demonstrate hands-on experience in design and development of Informatica based solutions.
Demonstrate in-depth understanding of Data Warehousing and ETL concepts, ETL loading strategy
Hands on experience with Complex mappings from varied transformation logics like Connected and Unconnected Lookups, Router, Aggregator, Joiner, Update Strategy etc…
Experience in using Informatica Mapping/Session/Worklet/Workflow variables and parameters, running Informatica Workflows in RHEL Unix.
Experienced in Testing, Debugging and Performance Tuning of any ETL bottlenecks.
Experienced in migration of objects into different environment (DEV, QA, STAGE and PRD) of project.
Exposure in Data Modeling using Star/Snowflake Schema Design, Data Marts, Relational and Dimensional Data Modeling, Slowly Changing Dimensions, Fact and Dimensional tables, Physical and Logical data modeling using Erwin.
Required Skills:
5+ years experience working with Informatica PowerCenter
Ability to design and develop complex Informatica mappings, sessions, workflows and identify areas of optimizations
Ability to design logical and multi-dimensional data models
Experience with Oracle RDBMS 10g or 11g (Stored Procedures, View, Indexes etc.
Experience with UNIX (Scripts).
Strong communication skills (both oral and written) and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are required
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or seven to 10 years of IT related experience.
Strong analytical, problem solving and presentation skills.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with Finance data will be an added advantage.
Experience with Business Objects will be an added advantage.
