Role:         Sr. ETL Test Lead

Location:  Johnston, IA

  

Looking for a consultant with 10+years of experience.

 

Strong, hands on SQL experience required.

 

Job Description:

Specific Position Requirements:

The contingent test lead role will help plan and provide work direction for several offshore test analysts in order to test various ETL processes.

This includes creating overall test plans for projects, reviewing specific test cases to ensure test coverage, setting up test scenarios in our non-production environments, reviewing defects, coordinating with developers and testers to resolve defects and communicating the status of testing to the project team and other teams.

 

Required Skills:

A strong background in SQL, ability to interpret medium to complex data models and ability to analyze data using SQL queries.

Experience testing ETL processes using either manual or automated methods for testing.

This includes testing ETL processes with flat file (delimited, fixed width, COBOL) and various relational (DB2, Oracle, Netezza, SQL Server) sources and targets.

Experience creating high level test strategies including backfill/conversion testing and daily testing.

Experience creating and reviewing test cases to ensure that all scenarios are being tested.

 

Note: Most test cases will be created by our offshore test analysts.

The person that fills this role will review these test cases to ensure coverage.

Experience reviewing defects and collaborating with developers and testers to resolve defects.

Experience planning and directing the work for several test analysts.

 

A strong candidate will also have the following skills:

Core mainframe skills which include the ability to view / edit datasets on the mainframe using standard mainframe utilities.

Experience with automated ETL testing.

High level understanding of Informatica.

Ability to understand the logic that is being applied in Informatica.

There is not a need to be able to create Informatica mappings and workflows, but a strong candidate will be able to understand the logic being applied in Informatica mappings.

High level understanding of basic Linux commands
