ROLE        : IBM AS/400 Technology (iseries)

 

Skill & Responsibilities

               

1.       Should have extensive experience in Application development, enhancements and Support in AS/400 using RPG400, RPGILE, COBOL and CLP.

2.       Must have worked in AS/400 Application Production Support (Level 1/Level 2) and ability to resolve the tickets within the SLA, Ad-hoc Support, Perform Data fixes, monitoring jobs and System performance analysis.

3.       Should handle User queries, Incident Management, Problem management, Change Management, Release Management for timely Resolution of the tickets.

4.       Should perform preventive, perfective and adaptive maintenance to the support applications.

5.       Strong knowledge in DB2/400, responsible for validating the DB design, creation of database and file analysis to interpret business logic

6.       Should be able to provide break fixes, non-break fixes and contribute in minor enhancements.

7.       Ability to analyze, perform impact analysis & system study based on user requirements

8.       Ability to do functional analysis and prepare design as well as technical specifications for enhancement related workability to create/modify RPG, RPGILE & COBOL programs based on the Functional/Technical Document

9.       Co-ordinate between client & the offshore team and perform peer reviews & Testing

10.   Should have worked extensively with Physical, Logical files, Sub-files & Printer files

11.   Should have exposure to Journaling, Triggers

12.   Strong knowledge in creation queries using SQL, Query/400 & QMQRY

13.   Must have hands-on experience on Debugging tools STRDBG & STRISDB

14.   Should perform Unit Testing, Integration and System testing of assigned modules

15.   Knowledge of RPG Free format coding would be an added advantage

16.   Experience in Regression and Performance testing preferred

17.   Knowledge in different stages of Software Development Life cycle Projects

18.   Provide regular project/task status updates to the team, team lead and Manager as required.

19.   Escalate problems as per team guidelines to Team Leader and/or manager

20.   Prioritizing, Planning, Resolving and tracking of Tasks, Work requests and other Maintenance activities.

21.   Excellent written and oral communications skills

22.   Create Knowledge base for Customer Support.

23.   Strong Judgment and Problem solving skills

24.   Should Provide Application & technical support to project\account.

25.   Own and actionize requests for service, implementing changes and resolving assigned problems (may involve some after hours and weekend work).

26.   Flexibility to work in shifts and over the weekends based on business demand.

27.   Attend and actively participate in weekly review meetings with the team leader and/or manager to discuss issues, concerns, people, ideas and workload.
